Inside Ottawa’s 2-Day Epoxy Training with Epoxy Floor Wars Competitor Thomas Winarske

In March 2025, we hosted a hands-on 2-day epoxy training in Ottawa featuring Epoxy Floor Wars competitor Thomas Winarske.

Over 20 installers joined us at Chromology Ottawa for two full days of advanced techniques, live demos, business insights, and real-world application.

This was not a lecture-style course. It was hands-on, technical, and focused on helping installers level up their craft and grow their businesses.

What Made This Epoxy Training Different

This training stood out for one big reason. We brought in a featured installer from the United States who appeared on the series Epoxy Floor Wars.

Having Thomas Winarske lead the sessions gave attendees direct access to advanced techniques used in the coatings industry all across North America.

Installers were able to ask questions, troubleshoot real scenarios, and watch step-by-step execution in real time.

Geometric Flake Floor Systems

One of the highlights was a live demo of a geometric flake floor design. Thomas walked the group through:

We also created a large epoxy countertop sample live in front of the group.

We also welcomed the owner of SmartSlat, James Secondino, to educate installers on increasing average job value.

Garage flooring is one part of a transformation. Organization systems like slatwalls can significantly increase revenue per project while providing added value to homeowners. Topics covered included:

• Profit potential

Since the training, we officially begun carrying SmartSlat products at our store. This allows local installers to source both epoxy materials and wall organization systems in one place.
